CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The City of Corpus Christi will keep residents informed with ongoing updates about Tropical Storm Alberto, currently impacting our community. The safety and well-being of our residents continue to be the City’s top priority. Emergency services have been actively responding to those in need, ensuring that all emergency situations are being managed swiftly and effectively.

The City anticipates another high tide today at 4:00 p.m., attributed to the run-off water. Subsequent tides are forecasted to be lower following this occurrence. Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution and avoid flooded areas, particularly in the North Beach and Island regions. Anticipate road closures and the potential inaccessibility of beach roads. Locations in low-lying areas, including homes, businesses, and critical infrastructure, are vulnerable to flooding.

City Damage Assessment Teams are currently investigating and assessing flooding and damage throughout the City. Residents are urged to report any damage to personal property to the Texas Department of Emergency Management (TDEM) through the iSTAT Damage Surveys app, which can be found at: iSTAT Damage Surveys (texas.gov).

The City of Corpus Christi is also working closely with Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority (CCRTA), the American Red Cross, and other entities to evacuate North Beach residents to the Corpus Christi Gym/Natatorium in Corpus Christi, Texas, as needed.
